The former Agwa Clan Development Center Coordinator, Hon. Obinna Modestus Jumbo has decried that the people of Agwa Clan in Oguta Local Government Area deserves to be given the chance to produce the next Chairman of the Council in the forthcoming Imo State Council’s election.
Speaking to Newsmen in Owerri during the Stakeholders Meeting on the need to Stop crude Oil theft and bunkering in the Niger Delta Region of the State, Hon. Obinna Jumbo said that the bunkering saga has remained a cankerworm in the fabrics of the economic development of the oil riched Council of Ohaji Egbema Oguta and Oru East local Government Area of Imo State.
He pointed out that the issue of bunkering and theft will be drastically reduced with the creation of Job opportunity, employment for the Youth of the area and Oil Company satisfactions to the MOU with the host community.
He was very passionate about the People of Agwa Clan who he said that are major contributors in the Niger Delta Region of the State but are marginalized with the political offices in the shared prosperity administration of the, governor Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Unequivocally demanded urgent interventions for the ceding of the Chairmanship position to the area to pacified the people for the gross marginalization, abandonment and denial by the government of Senator Hope Uzodimma Onwa Oyoko or even to recognize them.
Expressing confidence in the high level of individuals anticipating to contest the Chairmanship election from the area including himself and described themselves as persons of impeccable character and pedigrees with sound academic qualifications and administration known how to place the Council in the part of development inline with the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma’s 3R Vision.
He explained that since the inceptions of the administration of the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma ,(Onwa Oyoko) as the Executive Governor Imo State, Agwa people are completely out of the system as the only way to correct the anomaly is to cede the Chairmanship position to the area to ensure political equilibrium and balance.
