The special Adviser on Land Recovery to Governor Hope Uzodinma of
Imo State Hon. Paschal Nwakanma, has warned that henceforth any
individual who parades/approaches his office with fake land
documents will be arrested and landed over to appropriate authorities
for investigation and prosecution.
Hon. Nwakanma who gave the warning in a press statement through
his media Adviser, Dr. Stanley Uzoma, said that he will no longer
tolerate the way and manner the land grabbers parades fake lands
documents to include allocation papers, Certificate of Occupancy (C of
O), Right of Occupancy (R of O) and receipts to cover their fraudulent
acts and hence anyone cut from now on will have his or herself to be
blame.
“Gentlemen of the press, please help me and my team to spread this
piece of information.
We have been very thorough in our
investigations to have discovered these fraudulent activities which
most of the offenders do not know the weight of the offence they
committed.
Honestly, the rate at which these land grabbers parade fake
documents with boldness is highly unacceptable because it sends very
wrong signal.
Imagine somebody will corner government landed
properties to himself and will have the boldness to fake
documents/receipt to enable him/her convert such property to oneself
and when invited for explanation, he/she will brandish documents and
when you take a close look at such documents, you will discover a
very big error.
If you went further to carry out a thorough search at
the Ministry of lands/Imo State geographical information system.IGIS) you will equally discover that such documents tendered are not
gazette, not only because they are fake, the area he/she is claiming is
government acquired zone 100% a such nobody/government
authority can give/allocate such area to an individual.
Also somebody will claim that he/she got land allocation from
government and when asked to submit/provide the allocation paper
he/she will present a Power of Attorney. While some will claim that
they bought the land from a community and when asked to prove,
he/she present an allocation paper bearing Imo State government.
Again some will also present an allocation paper bearing Ref No of
Area „A‟, while the land he/she is talking about is in Area ‘B’‟. All these
amount sabotage, fraud and treason against the Imo State
Government.
In view of these offences being committed by land grabbers and
racketeers against the land use law/act of the state, due justice has to
be served to all offenders and perpetrators of this dastard act.”
Hon. Nwakanma therefore warned individuals to be sure of the source
of any land documents they are parading as his office will no longer
take it lightly with anyone that approaches his office with fake
documents but would certainly handover such person to appropriate
authorities for investigation and persecution.
