The traders at Relief Market in Owerri Municipal Council have
commended the leadership of Hon. Engr. Kelechi Chikere, the Chairman
of the market for the sincerity of purpose and transparent measure he uses to handle
the affairs of the market.

The traders gave the Commendations when our roving reporter visited
the market to ascertain the state of affairs at the market.
The report had it that, majority of the traders who spoke expressed
absolute confidence in the leadership of Hon Engr. Chikere, asserting
that “He” remained one of the best chairmen that have lead the market,
going by his achievements, the easy way and manner he is handling the
market’s union administrations which has really manifested in a relative
peace within the market, orderliness, people’s willingness to participate
in the affairs of the market, obey rules and regulations guiding the
market and changing the face of the market.

They equally asserted that Hon. Chikere is indeed a man of conscience,
very caring and one who shows concern on people’s plight, and knows
that all hands are not equal a such treat people with respect.

Chief Kyrian Oguike, one of the Patrons of the market described Hon.
Chikere as God sent to relief market particularly at this time bad
economy is biting hard on people. “Hon. Chikere is a tested and trusted
man, hardworking and ever consistent on whatever he believes on.

Infact before he assumed office as our chairman, Relief Market owed
EEDC several million of naira as bill but on assumption of office, with his
contact, the bill was drastically reduced to a single digit and electricity
restored. In area of sanitation, when you go round the market, if you
are a regular visitor here, you will agree with me that sanitation has
improved. In handling misunderstanding between traders, I do call him
the Solomon of our time, Honestly, he had really performed beyond the expectations of some of
us. I have been in this market since inceptions and can sincerely tell you
in comparison the leadership of Hon. Chikere and others.
I am appealing to traders to continue to give him the love by giving him
the needed supports and loyalty.”

Mrs. Grace Ibeawuchi, a vegetable seller and a widow, has this to say,
“that our chairman is a good man. He has the fear of God in him. I like
the way he conduct himself, he should keep it up.”

Lady Joy Amadi, in her own contribution, said “Chikere our chairman is
doing well, we like him and would want him to continue I pray God to
continue to direct him.”
Ibrahim Isah, a farm produce dealers, “Walahi, talahi”, Hon. Chikere is a
very good man, that is why we northerners in this market are supporting
him, Allah will continue to guide him”.

Hon. Emma Agumba, “Hon. Chikere the people’s chairman is a game
changer, when you come to him, you will really know that he is
intelligent, I know he will go places”.

In a quick reaction to this development Hon. Engr. Kelechi Chikere
thanked the traders for believing on him.

He revealed that he realized
that power belongs to God and he gives it to whomever he chooses
hence, been the relief market chairman is God’s design which is for a
purpose at such he puts God first in any decision he takes as chairman
to make people happy so that they would have course to continue to
glorify God.

He therefore promises to continue to do his best to see that Relief
market is taking to the next level for the benefit of everyone.

While urging traders to always pray for those in authority, he advice
them to be their brother’s keeper.
