An Imo State based Transportation Welfare Unit under the aegis of Imo Niger Delta Transporters Association (INDETA) ably led by their Chairman, Chief Dennis Ifurueze has distanced themselves from the Petitions against the office of the (SBDCP) by one of their member, Daniel Okonji and paid a familiarization visit to the Chairman, Security Biometric Data Capture and Painting , Elder Anaelechi Ukanwune in his Owerri office.
Speaking, the group Public relations officer (PRO), Mr. Amuzienwa Roland while introducing members of the association stated that the purpose of the visit was to reaffirms their position on the petition written by one Okonji Daniel against the Chairman, Security Biometric Data Capture and painting, Elder Anaelechi Ukanwune and the financial controller, Chief Kingsley Nwachukwu (Akuruoulo), on false allegations of financial misappropriations.
The IINDETA Chairman, Chief Dennis Ifurueze, in his opening remarks, expressed disappointment over the petition and emphatically stated that the EXCOS and members of Imo Niger Delta Transporters Association (INDETA) has officially condemned it in totality Mr. Okonji Daniel action and distanced themselves from the petition as it does not represent the interest of the association.
He told the Chairman, Security Biometric Data Capture and Painting, Elder Anaelechi Ukawune (Obowo), that the said petition was written with the Association’s letter head paper without the consent of the Chairman and members of the Association.
However, he presented a letter to Elder Anaelechi Ukanwune from the association exonerating themselves from the said petitions and promised to defend the Purported unofficial letter from Okonji with his EXCOS when the need arises.
Chief Ifurueze expressed happiness that he was inaugurated as the Chairman, Imo Niger Delta Transporters Association (INDETA), by Elder Anaelechi Ukanwune, and since then, there has been a harmonious working relationship between his members and Committee on Security Biometric Data Capture and Painting therefore he wouldn’t want the relationship tampered with as a result of the false petition.
The Chairman, Security Biometric Data Capture and Painting, Elder Anaelechi Ukanwune thanked them for the visit and for taking such a bold step to exonerate their position on the petition which has earlier put the image of the association in bad light.
Elder Ukanwune went further to explain that the primary aim of the committee is to protect the overall interest of the drivers. He promised to protect them at all times and reminded them that it is compulsory that they must comply with Government’s directive by capturing and painting their vehicles.
He implored them to always obey traffic rules and respect the traffic officers so they can operate freely. He told the Executives and expect them to always brief him with every challenge facing them so that a letter can be written to the appropriate quarters to address such issues.
He also told the Executives that he will have another round of meeting with them where they will have an understanding on the way forward.
Contributing, Vice Chairman, Security Biometric Data Capture and Painting, Hon. Ifeanyi Nwokedi, thanked them for the visit and appealed to them to be worthy ambassadors by living a life worthy of emulations by other drivers . He urged them to bring forth any challenge confronting them and be rest assured that it will be tackled head on in their best interest.
While Mr. Frank Okonkwo gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the association promising to remain resolute and royal to the State leadership of Transporters.
