The distribution of Palliative donated by the Member for Ohaji Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constitutiency in the House of Representative, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu last Saturday 7 June 2024, has teared Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area, Community’s President General apart and it turned to a free for all fights between the two persons dragging the position of Obile Autonomous Community President Generals, Hon. Chigozie Kingsley Omuruka and Mr. Ndubuisi Obido over who will be in charge of the Palliatives donated to the Community by the Federal Law-maker.
Trouble started when the two embattled President Generals met at the Central School Izombe Community Oguta LGA on the occasion marking the Palliative Distribution by the Federal House Member For Ohaji Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constitutiency, Hon. Eugene Dibiagwu.
Each trying to be in charge of the consignment for the said Community and when they couldn’t resolved amicable fight brokered which attracted both the security operatives at the event including police and Army to restore normalcy as the Coordinator of the Law-maker for Obile Ward was finally handed over the Palliative for the community.
Narrating his ordeal, Hon. Kingsley Omuruka, allegedly said that, himself and few President Generals from Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State were attacked, injured and bullied by the Police Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata alias Kill &bury in connections with some military officers resulting to him being taking to the hospital for quick medical attention as the hit affected majorly his upper head, a place he had brain surgery sometime last year. He didn’t only called for the sack of Insp. Okebata from the Police Force by the Inspector General of Police but placed his life in his hand.
Briefing newsmen, in Owerri Imo State, the embattled Town Unions President-General, Obile Community in conjunction with some President Generals in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State narrated how they were rescued by whiskers,
If not, they could have met the worst hit of life last Saturday in Izombe Oguta LGA while trying to intervened to rescue one of theirs, who is also President General of all the President Generals in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area visa-vie Imo State, Hon Chigozie Kingsley Omuruka after having an ongoing leadership battle in his Community which he also alleged that the police officer was equally fingered in the move to illegal imposed or install, Obido as the President General of Obile Community by HRH Eze Abyssinian Ogbuji.
Explained how he lost his belongings to the attackers including his phones and other items and call for justice in the matter and outright dismissal of Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata from the Nigeria Police Force as he is an affront and a disgrace to the Force.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ndubuisi Obido said that he is a peace loving man and will not tolerate any form of molestation or Intimidations as Omuruka purposefully came to Izombe to disgrace him.
While the issue of bring Police Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata into the matter is not only infantile but ridiculous according to him because the organizers of the event have a template on how to share the Palliatives and wonder how and why the former President General of Obile Autonomous Community, Kingsley Omuruka will come at the place to drag position with him having graciously served out his tenure earlier and knowing about his election and subsequent Inauguration as the PG Obile Community after his village in whose turn to produce the next PG after Omuruka’s tenure earlier on elected him.
In his words, “I was inspecting Obile Autonomous Community Palliatives donated by Hon Dibiagwu, unknown to me that (Blocker) Hon. Kingsley Omuruka was around before I knew it he punched me and some of his boys came attacking me because I was alone at the event”. “To the extent of Kingsley Omuruka bringing out Kitchen knife to kill me that was what angered some of the military officers to pounced on him not Police Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata as he was alleging. “It’s only the military officers that safe the situation and ensure normalcy in the event before that time the convener, Hon. Dibiagwu has left the field”.
“We are happy with the quality of security of life and property witnessed in Ohaji Egbema and Oguta local Government Area of Imo State from the Police Officer Insp. Chika Innocent Okebata alias Kill & bury and his men”.
“Okebata has done much to bring sanity to the area and we thank those who post him to Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area, because he was the reason and instrument of peace and stability in the Council and anyone or those suggesting his removal are simply the criminal elements and hoodlums that wants to return the place back to restiveness days, God forbid!,” Obido said
Whereas, the President-Generals of Ohoba Autonomous Community, Ochazi Chukwuemeka, Apostle Moses Ugwu of Obosima and Comrade Akam Kingsley of Ochia Autonomous Community both in Ohaji/Egbema who came in solidarity with their friend, pointed out, how it happened, that is not only Kill&bury and his men that attacked them that the Military officers included to the extent of pointing out guns on them if not for the Gods grace they would have been a dead persons. Explained further that the President Generals are equally part and parcel of the government working for the governor Senator Hope Uzodimma and deserved to accord respects.
In his response, Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata, Kill&, bury in a phone conversations, said that, he was not in the position to react on the allegations as Police Public Relations Officer Unit (PPRO) are in a better position to react but explained that he was trying to arrest Kingsley Omuruka for bringing out weapon in a public gathering and pointed out that he was wounded by the said kitchen knife when he was trying to get it from him.
Meanwhile the convener of the event, Hon Eugene Dibiagwu, was not able to comment on the matter as the time of filling the report because his cell phone was switched off.
