OWERRI — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Transition Committee Chairman of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Chief Kelechi Iwueze, has lauded the infrastructural strides of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, describing them as “top-notch and of international standard.”
Speaking shortly after the APC Leadership and Stakeholders Meeting held in Owerri on Saturday, October 11, 2025, Chief Iwueze commended the governor for transforming the state’s infrastructure and fostering political unity under the APC.
He particularly praised landmark projects such as the, Assumpta Flyover , Road Construction’s and Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (EIICC), which he described as world-class and a testament to the governor’s vision for modernizing the state.
Chief Iwueze, who also serves as the General Manager and CEO Owerri Property Search Shelter LTD (Estate Management Firm) used the occasion to appeal to Governor Uzodimma to prioritize the reconstruction of the Aba Branch–Mbaise–Okpala Road. He stressed the economic importance of the road, noting that it serves as a major link between Okigwe Zone, Owerri, and neighboring Abia State through the Okpala junction.
“The current state of the road has severely impacted businesses and the daily lives of residents in the area. We appeal to the governor to include its reconstruction in his ongoing Shared Prosperity agenda,” Iwueze said.
According to him, the high turnout and presence of political heavyweights at the APC stakeholders’ meeting, including his big brother, Chief Tony Chukwu, Chief Myke Ikoku, Chief Chris Okewulonu, three former deputy governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and other founding party members, was proof of the governor’s wide acceptance and inclusive leadership style.
Chief Iwueze also highlighted the recent visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Imo State—accompanied by several state governors and national assembly leaders—as evidence of the state’s rising political relevance under Governor Uzodimma’s leadership.
“Governor Uzodimma has transformed Imo into a one-party state under the APC. His moral values, political connections, and inclusive governance have positioned the state on a trajectory of growth, unity, and national significance,” he said.
Looking ahead to 2027, Chief Iwueze expressed confidence that the APC would retain power at both state and national levels, asserting that the party has demonstrated political maturity and organization under Uzodimma’s leadership.
